Yikes - this is a lot more challenging than the last speed scrap! I have no idea what a "bracket shaped paper mat" is either. I'll take a guess.

If you cannot make a bracket shaped paper from the solid paper, then just cut the solid paper down in size and use regulars on either side of it to decorate it...
