Ok...I'm doing something wrong. I use PS 7.0. When I try to use the place option, in the file type field it only shows Parsable Formats (.AI, .EPS, .PDF, .PDP) and it won't allow me to see any other file type. Anyone else having this issue??

I was so excited about this tip!!!!!!! ACK!

Hmmmm, I wonder if it won't work with elements, just cs2/3........sorry gals! I was just so darned excited to find this! The only thing I don't like about this is that you don't get a little preview window, but often I know what I want it's just a matter of grabbing it anyway!

If you have ACDSee, you can highlight the file, then CTRL-E to open in Elements (there's a tut about it on the digiscrapinfo site)
