OK!

Here are the "guidelines"...

I'll give you a series of "prompts" about every ten minutes over the next hour.

Use the prompts to create a LO..feel free to ask questions, but remember that it is up to you to interpret the guidelines...

At the end of the hour, I'll give you another hour to finish up and post your LO in the Speed Scraps Gallery (http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=927)

Is everyone ready?

Not slow...I'm just not explaining very well. Layer other things (like paper in the shapes of snowflakes or bells, or stars or ANYTHING, to make flowers.

It's GREAT to see you, by the way! It's been a while!

j_camargo6

Me too, I still don't get it...will keep tryin'...

Or you could arrange seashells in a flower shape (one for each petal) etc....just create "flowers" out of other shapes. (It's a little abstract, I know, but I thought it would be a fun challenge).

j_camargo6
01-15-2009, 05:31 PM

1. Pick one striped paper and 3 coordinating papers.

2. Pick one large and 3 small photos (small ones all the same size). Use the striped paper as a border on the large photo and place the three small photos connecting to each other with no borders.

3. Create at least 8 flowers (can repeat). At least half of them must contain some shape OTHER than flower.

It's just that coming up with so much stuff & doing a layout with it in a short period of time is hard to do. If it were fewer things then I would be more able to do that.

It's just that coming up with so much stuff & doing a layout with it in a short period of time is hard to do. If it were fewer things then I would be more able to do that.

Don't forget that your flowers can be repeated, if you want!!! So where the prompt says 8 flowers and half of them have to be something other than traditional flowers...you could do four of your non-traditional, and 4 of your traditional....there are ways around the "suggestions"!

j_camargo6
01-15-2009, 06:06 PM
Just so you know, you have an HOUR to complete your LO! Don't let it stress you (I'm flexible).

Post your LO in the Speed Scrap Gallery (http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=927) and post a link here in this thread.

I'll be sending out bonuses when the hour is up and announcing the winner of the Chase Away the Blues Kit!

I like the layering of items to create "flowers"
it is a chance to use our kits in fun ways, instead of looking in lots of places
I use layering all the time so I guess that step is just fun for me

As far as the borders go, can i use one of the coordinating papers to make a border???

And, I made 3 types of flowers - 2 with ribbons and 1 with a metallic prong (although I have 8 on the layout), but they all have a flower shape, did some of them need to not have a flower shape??? I'm kinda confused now.

I just saw the Christmas Morning layout - awesome! Now I see how some people creatively interpreted things. I like it! I'm posting mine now, then I'm going to go scour over the rest of them.

They all look wonderful, don't they! It's amazing how many different interpretations can come out of the same prompt...it's so much fun to see them all after!

You know, I've browsed all the layouts and they are super imaginative. I couldn't figure out the flower shape thing so resorted to the shape tool and repeated it, I was blown away by the use of different embelishments as "flowers" sooooo many great ideas and layouts from such an intense scrap. I'm glad I saw this one and joined in.

As Jenn says, you interpret the instructions whatever way you want. That is what makes these so much fun, to see how everyone comes up with such different thing. These scraps are so much fun. These are my favorite challenge here at GDS. Hope to see you joining us for lots more.
