The 25th person to post here and tell me a funny story about their obsession with digital scrapbooking wins their choice of $10 worth of products from my store. I'm also going to award someone for the best story. You can post more than once, just not more than twice in a row. The winner ca't be a designer here, a moderator here, or a supreme team member here, all though they can post some funny stories!!

I have to say that the last time I did this, the best story came from someone who got busted outside the library for downloading digital scrapbooking stuff late at night using the library's wi-fi. The cop thought she was downloading porn and it turned out to be digital scrapbooking stuff. Her Internet at her house was down. He let her go of course!

So, tell me some great ones here! The deadline for this is the 25th post! :)

Ok, so not too long ago I traveled across the state to spend a week with my best friend since Jr. High. :tee:We are both into digital scrapping now which is SO much easier to pack--just the laptop!! LOL Anyway, I'm getting all set up and bring out my "type A" homemade charts to keep track of all the challenges I complete. She is looking at me like a crazy-woman and all the time I'm thinking...."just you wait...I'll GET YOU, my pretty! MuyaHAHAHA!" I explained what the challenges were and gave her some charts...we worked on them side by side and before long she was hooked!!! Now who is the "crazy-woman"???!!! I shouldn't say, (Little Miss I've had my 'Scrappin 7' done for days now) but what the heck...:party1:FONNETTA, YOU ROCK!! :party1:

I'm back home...and now we get on the phone and cyber-digi-scrap as often as possible!! Gotta love those speed scraps!! LOL

(Hee-hee! I can't wait 'til she finds this!!):wavey:

OK ... I don't want to say to much about me but ....
I do go to a psychologist with things that I have been trying to overcome from my past. WELL .. she ask if their was anything that I thought that I was adicted to because of my OCD potential and that she beeded to make sure that my medication was going to work for my OCD and depression. I looked at her and told her .. "yeah digital scrapbooking". She looked at me in a puzzled look. I then told her that I was obsessed and had to do scrapbooking daily for hours or I didn't fell like my day was going the way it should. She said OK ... that is first for me. I can see what I can do !

She did give me a new medication and it does work. Insted of 6-7 hours of scrapbooking .. I have narrowed it down to a good 2 hours total daily :lmao:!

ok - cant believe I am saying this but here goes...

so - up here in the Great White North, we just had our Thanksgiving weekend. And, I am chief cook and bottle washer 'round these parts. So - spend the better part of a day and a half preparing all the goodies - turkey, brussel sprouts, yams, mashed spuds, homemade cranberry sauce, baked bread etc etc etc. Anyway - had the fam all over and laid it all out and we tucked in and had a damn'd good feed. You know how it is, right? Then the triptophane kicked in and food coma came on and la-dee-da. Not much different than 'round most people's places, right? Here comes the kicker gals. Got your bevvie poured and ready?

Forgot to take even a single pic of the whole thing. Always take pics to scrap.

So - forced my fam to have another turkey dinner the next day and did it all over again so I could stage the dinner once more and this time get pics. They hate me and don't want to see Turkey again until 2009.

Got my pics though. *snicker

Ok I've got one. The first chat I was supposed to host here at GDS my internet went down. DH was on the phone all morning trying to get it fixed for me and of course it was on their end and we got the good old, it will be fixed by 9am in the morning....ugh! So right before chat time I loaded up my laptop, his power converter, my diet pepsi and headed to main street to "borrow" internet from the courthouse. Luckily my DH is friends with all the local cops so I didn't get any questions. I did get some strange looks though.....:twitcy:

Well i dont know if this is just funny, or just SAD lol, but here's my story. I bought some pre-made QP's for a photo book i was making as i was short on time, and then also using those as a starting point made more by adding new elements and erasing some.... Added in my photos, uploaded the pages to the printing website, put them in the book and I kept getting that Error Message when your image is too low Quality, So i was going NUTS, I even called the company and said NO NO, this is a big file at this many inches by 300dpi and they kept saying that image file must be too small as their website didnt have any reported gliches, and I'm like "Well you are having a reported glich now"

Anyways, they ask for the EXACT specs of the picture, so i open up my QP in photoshop, and sure enough the QP's i bought from the store were actually for a BRAG BOOK, almost half the size of the book i was making. I felt SOOoooo Stupid hahha.

So lesson in life ladies, always read the details LOL.

we travel a lot.. so that's why I have the laptop. I used to be able to get a dialup at my Mom's house but that just doesn't cut it with scrapbooking. My sister lives in a cul de sac and all her neighbors have wifi, most of them unsecured. They all say I can tap in no problem. So during the day when they are at work and I"m on vacation I walk around the corner with the laptop and look for a signal. My mother thinks I'm nuts. But I eventually find the best signal and then do my thing. There are always lawn chairs and I park myself under a tree! I'm happiest when I can connect at my sister's and sit by the pool! But it took my brother in law a while to get me access to their network, as theirs is secure! At night it's funnier... I go out on the screen porch at my Mom's in my night gown, in the dark... and I can usually find a signal from one of our friends too! Gotta love the neighbors! Sis has lived there for 15 years and we know everyone!

I guess you would say I am addicted as well. This summer while all my family was visiting at the lake all I could think about was some of the DD's I MUST get each day. You know, those ones where the sky will fall in if you don't get them! LOL Especially I could not miss a download from you, Andrea!

Well with dial up it was impossible even though I would wake up in the middle of the night and try to do some of them. So after lunch each day with my laptop on my back I would walk the mile to where my car was parked (no cars where our cabin is) and then drive another 3 miles to a country store that had Wi-Fi. There I would sit and download all I needed (+ some) and then return to the cabin. I would then head on down to the beach to watch the grandkids swim. I am no spring chicken so this was not an easy task LOL

I did this for 4 days until I realized I needed to get my priorities straight and spend some quality time with the family while they were visiting. It was not easy but I managed to stay away from the internet and waited till I was back in the city (6 days of terrible withdrawal LOL)

I have had to "stage" several things also to get the perfect page later!

In 2002 I had just completed a 2 pg paper scrapped LO about a pumpkin patch and now needed pics to put on it. DH gave me the "GOOD GRIEF WOMAN" grimace after I asked him to change clothes...that darker colors would work better for my fall page, but he did it! :twitcy: So with appropriate fall attire and my trusty 35mm camera (before my digital days) we jumped in the car and ran down over the hill about 10 minutes away to a cute pumpkin patch.

I knew just how many vertical and horizontal shots I needed and DH was very patient as I was directing the photo shoot. "Now inspect the pumpkins as if you are really searching for just the right one, now do this, now do that"...LOL I was really into it, him?...not so much!

I had one horizontal shot of the both of us left to get and the worst possible thing happened!!! My camera ran out of film--I thought I put in a 36 exposure and it was only for 24 shots! NOOOOOOOOO! :confused1: My DH drove me all the way home to get another roll and all the way back. By that time I was very humble and became a little shy to ask someone at the patch to take our pic. Everyone else there had small children (we didn't yet) and I didn't want to interrupt their day. My DH (wanting to be DONE with the whole thing) turned and asked the first guy he saw practically shoving the camera at him. God bless this man because he laughed and said his wife scrapped too and which way would I like the picture??!! LOL So, I got my shots...and the pages turned out great!

My journaling was originally going to be about picking the right pumpkin...but it ended up being about "Picking the Right One"...my DH!

I'm new to Digi Scapping, and was trying to make some QP's for a photobook I'm going to make of Halloween this year. Well my Daughter comes up and asks why i'm making "Crafts" on the computer (she's 3 lol) so i tell her i making pages for a book for all the photos of her at Hallween. Sure enough she says "Can I make one?"

So humoring her i put her up on my lap and tell her that she pick any paper from this folder, and pick some picture frames from this folder and "decorations" from this one, and you "Glue" it onto the page in the computer hehe. SO she starts point and i start placing, and 20 minutes, and a lot of changing her mind, later... can i tell you, hers was WAY better then any of mine. HAHAHA

I guess i should let her make her own photo books huh?

I love staging Thanksgiving again to get pictures...that is too funny! I don't know if I have any really funny stories. Mostly, my dh just finds is comical that I'm actually scrapping since I am probably the least "crafty" person he knows. I must say that digital seems to work for me. The funniest thing was when I printed off my first pages and he said "Wow...these actually look pretty good. Maybe you should keep doing this!" LOL! Gotta love him!!

I don't know if this is still going or not, but I just thought of a funny story. I discovered digital scrapping last summer when I was searching for a way to organize my pictures. I have NEVER been a paper scrapper and I must confess I even laughed at those crazy moms who would pull out their cameras and such for the perfect picture with a scrap page in mind. So, anyway, I got hooked and really quickly. It got to the point that my obsession was running my life and I had to take a step back into reality (with dh behind me pushing me back to reality!). So, after really scaling it down, I can say that I am not quite so obsessed now. And I have been feeling very sick lately and just have not had the energy or creativity to do anything related to scrapping. So, last night the kids were all outside playing and dh calls me to come outside quick. I go out and I see my older daughter hanging upside down on the bar we have on the swingset. So, dh runs inside to grab the camera. He snaps some pics of the kids playing around...then looks at me and says "Those would be good pics to scrap with, huh?" LOL I think I've trained him right!

Congratualtions me4wish on winning, I love your story on Calling and yelling at the company who makes the books only to find out it was your fault hahaha that is 100% something I would do haha.

well its too late as the prize has been won, but here is my story that the above post reminded me of...

My Daughter loves to help me make my QP's too, she will come up and say No Mommy, that would look better over there, or Mommy use that one USE THAT ONE haha.
So just to lead into a story, my daughter Really wanted me to put an image of a Pumpkin in this QP i was making, but as i was almost done, it wouldnt work anywhere in my Layout, so i told her i would put it in the next one. Well she wasnt happy about it and through a temper tantrum *sigh* lol, so my hubby comes up stairs to see what was going on.

So she looks up at him and says "Daddy, Mommy wont let me use the Pumpkin" and he starts looking around the floor for a pumkin LMAO, so I told him what she ment, and he comes over and starts giving my HIS opinions on the page... *grrrr* lol, but it worked out well as we made the next page together as a family and its now my favorite QP out of them all, not because its the best looking one, but because we all worked on it together. *woot

PS I'm new here and this is my first post, so HI EVERYONE, nice to meet you.

Cute story.

My DH often pokes his nose into my LO as well. He is into geneology and so he has come up with an album idea(that I am suppose to do) for all my DD's direct relations. Great idea but the problem is he keeps telling me exactly how this should look and then well maybe we could add this and that and this and that. Drives me crazy. Needless to say I have 3 pages sorta done. (Now he's thinking we should do a hybrid design) Note: I've never really done hybrid and considering he is planning close to 80 pages I will be doing this project well into my retirement.

All these stories are hilarious! :D
The craziest things I've done is tell my DH over the phone how to download the "dailies" at a few sites. The "sad part" is that I could tell him exactly what buttons to click, and where to save them, and it worked perfectly. He still teases me, but he was impressed that I didn't just leave him floundering. :D

Hey, these stories have been fantastic! I've laughted so much! Here are the winners:

25th post: me4wishful
Best story: kelseyll (If you're keeping charts of the challenges you do, you deserve to win!)

Thanks so much for participating. I'll get the coupons sent out shortly via PM.

I have one more story to add of my own though. I have the sound of my husband's car memorized. He really likes to come home and not see me on the computer. It's better if I'm doing anything but that. So, I've memorized the sound of his car so if I hear his car outside, I can quickly find something useful to do before he gets in the house so he doesn't think I've been on the computer all day!
