View Full Version : Little Prayer for my Dad, Please.

11-19-2007, 05:54 AM
Hi everyone..
My Mom had to take my Dad to the emergancy room last night and he was admitted. He has been having a very hard time breathing and is 74 years old. For some reason, our family always seems to have to face things like this around the holidays...

So, if prayer is something you do, please say a little one for my Mom and Dad. I really want him home with us for Thanksgiving, but it's not looking too good right now.

Thank you,

Oh so sorry to hear about your dad Amy. I know what you're going through, my dad spent Christmas one year in the hospital. The hospital was great though and let us all go in at once to see him and watch him open his gifts. Not as good as having him home but it helped. My prayers are with your mom, dad and all of your family and hoping he gets well soon so he can go home.

I pray that he gets better soon and that you have him home for Thanksgiving. You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear that, Amy. It is very tough when loved ones are ill during the holidays. I will pray for your parents, and you, as I know it is stressful on the children as well.

God bless!

Boy it's been a long day! Well, my Dad is doing a bit better, he has a pulmonary disease which is not allowing his heart to get enough oxygen. He also has a bunch of fluid and they are running many tests. He is getting excellent treatment and the good news is he will be home. The bad news is it won't be by Thanksgiving and he will have to be on oxygen at home now and for the rest of his life.

Three words: don't smoke, please! And if you do, maybe think about quitting. I have watched him barely be able to walk up the driveway and he is not that old, really. I'd hate for anyone else to go through what he is going through.

Thank you so much to everyone for your thoughts and prayers!!!

Great news, and advice, Amy! Even though he won't be home for TG, you'll all have more to be thankful for anyway. So glad the news wasn't worse than it was. I'll continue to pray. Hugs

Aw Amy - I just saw this thread - I have been down and out the last 2 days with a bad back.

I am so glad he will be able to come home - you can have a delayed thanksgiving for him. Have another Welcome Home Dinner when he does come home.

My hugs and prayers are with you and your family - you know that!

HUGS again!!!!!
