Does anyone out there have any miracle cures for laryngitis? You, know I don't mind missing work to design and goof off, but not being able to talk is for the birds!!!! This is the second time this year, so I guess it is time for me to see the allergy specialist.

Sorry Amy I get it once a year and haven't found anything that works. Besides my husband loves when I get it.

I was a voice major in college and lost my voice at final exam time two times! (Our final exams were singing performances in front of lots of people)
Cough Drops, Tea with Lemon, Avoiding dairy and Taking lots of steamy showers were always helpful - and in extreme cases I drank this stuff called "Throat Coat" Worked Magic!

I get laryngitis a couple times a year...ugh!

I find resting my voice helps (not yelling at the kids...keeping it low)...hot showers help.. a humidifier helps allergies/sinuses....a warm salt water gargle, yicky but it helps... hot tea...with or without anything in it helps..it's the tannins in the tea I've been told that soothe...

hope you feel better...

Yes I so agree with the warm salt water gargle...personally I can't stand it, but it does work...but for me I always try my tea with honey and lemon, really hot, and sip it.

I have a girlfriend that has this problem all of the time and her doctor says that hers is also brought on by stress. So just tell your hubby that he is in charge of the boys for the weekend and you are taking the weekend off...don't you wish.
