Thank God that she doesn't have CF...God is good to us all...

I have heard so you might check with the doctor that is you put a little Vicks on your feet, put socks on and go down for the night that it helps with a cough so you might want to try that.

So glad to hear Tisha that it wasn't CF. Here is a thought and this is only because Madeline seemed to continuely have a cold and I'm talking since she was about 4 months old. The pediatrician kept telling them that it was related to allergies or there were colds going around. My daughter and son-in-law finally said enough is enough and they found an allergist on their own and it turned out that Madeline has asthma and is now having to have treatments twice a day. The coughing had gotten so bad that she wasn't sleeping at night and neither was anyone else it was so bad. Anyway it's just a thought and since she's been on her treatments the coughing has stopped.

what great news....

how long has she had the cough? Katie had croup at 18months..that cough lasted forever.......

and I agree about seeing a specialist for asthma or allergies if the pediatrician can't find anything further...Katie does have allergies ... and now she's on allergy meds (she takes singulair..which is also an asthma medication...and Nasonex) she would be a mess without them

Thank you, all of you, for the suggestions. Asthma and allergies run rampant (?) in dh's family, and I had asthma when I was little, so that's our first step. She's had the cough for more than a month... It wakes her up at night so much that she ends up choking and spitting up because of it. It's good to hear from all of you about having allergies, though, believe it or not. More than once we've been told she's too young for allergies. I think it's a bunch of hot air!! :) So, I'll keep all of you updated as things happen, but I'm sure it'll be a long process. Thank you sooo much for all of the advice!!! It means a great deal!!

Please do keep us informed about Myah and don't let the doctors put you off, that's what they did with Madeline and it went on like that for almost 3 years until my son-in-law and daughter did something about it themselves. As soon as the allergist heard her lungs he knew and put her on the nebulizer and in a day the coughing stopped, it's been 6 months now that she hasn't had those coughing fits.
