My first car was a 1968 (I think that was the year) Green Mustang and when we first got the car when you turned the corners the passenger door would come open. Thank God that my Dad was a mechanic and fixed it for me. I loved that little car...

I had a Neon Green Chevy Baretta! I wish I had a photo, but didn't really want to remember that ride at the time ...

I had a white 1969 Toyota Corona....the 'fancy' Toyota at the time but when I got it was 7 years old... ..then a 1966 powder blue Ford Mustang, that car was TOO fast for a high school kid! ...and in 1977 I bought my first 'newer' car.. a firetruck red 1975 Mustang...looked good but not the best car. ... I was all about fast in those days...today I drive a MINIVAN..and love it! :)

YEAH! A NOVA!!!! we had a variety of cars growing up and I think this was one of them! My favorite was our Vega... anyone remember those! LOL...

Ok...my first car was a ford escort....I loved that car.. I wrecked it about 4 times and it still ran! Perhaps why I no longer drive at all. She was a good ole gal! I'm getting choked up just thinking of her... I hope she went to a good home! LOL As if it's a pet or something!

Mine was a 1976 datsan stationwagon, it was almost older than me! My first real car was an 85 mustang..silver with pink and purple swirls on it. I loved that car.

I had an '85 Honda CRX - it was midnight blue and I loved that car! My sister and I shared it and we drove it into the ground :) I always wondered why my parents got us a 2-seater! Now that I'm the mom of 2 little girls, I know - not much can happen in a 2-seater hatchback with a gear shift in between the bucket seats! Now,the first car I bought for myself was a 1991 Honda Geo Metro - it had no air conditioning (in Florida), no radio (I just set my boom box up beside me), and all my friends made fun of it, but that thing got close to 60 miles to the gallon and when all my friends' hot rods were in the shop, that little Metro was there to run them around town!

1955 Chevy wagon...I can't remember the color now...belonged to my brother & I together...back then couldn't wait to get rid of it (now my brother-in-law would love to have it!)...then a navy-blue 1966 Chevy Maliby...4 speed with bucket seats...I was hot stuff (or so I thought!)

I was 17 (1995) when I got my first ride. It was a Grey '81 Ford Escort. Looking back, I realize what a fun car that really was. Not quite the embarrassment I remember at the time. :) My dad called it "The Hemorrhoid". Ya know, because it was a pain in the butt. I called it my go kart, mostly because it had virtually no get up and go and drove pretty much like a go kart.

Fun Thread!!

For my 17th birthday (1977), my dad bought me a blue '72 Toyota Celica with white leather seats. I was in heaven! And my friends were all envious because, not only was it a cool car, but my parents also paid for the insurance and gas.

I was totally traumatized two years later when they traded in my sports car for a brand-new Datsun B-210 STATIONWAGON--with no radio. Aaaarrrrggggghhh! I drove that . . . thing . . . for 13 years until I broke down and bought myself a new Olds Calais---which quickly convinced me never to buy an American car again. Half my mom's family works for GM, but I'll probably never own another one. I'm perfectly happy with my CRV now.

I saw this in the gallery this morning and told her that my first car was a 1962 corvair, now that really dates me. Of course my dad paid for it but I had to share it with my brother and sister, you should have seen us making up a schedule as to who got to drive it and when and where we were going with it in case one of us wanted to ride with the other one.

My first car was a 1960 VW. All of us kids were required to learn how to drive a stick shift, so this car was the beginner car for each of us.

My first ride was a 1967 Ford Falcon. It was black and had red seats. It didn't run well and I finally gave up on her. I just drove my parents 68 Impala and then after I wrecked that I drove a 72 Nova. Of all the cars out there my dream car is a 1967 Camaro. I would love to have one even now. If I can talk my sister and brother in law into selling me theirs I will be on cloud 9.

I learned to drive on an Oldsmobile "boat"--I don't remember the name  but man that thing was looooong! The first car I bought was a silver chevy Citation. man, what a great name! The heat didn't work, and the back windiows leaked when it rained (and in Washington state, that's about every day). It only lasted a few months, then the engine block died. I was 50 miles from "home", stuck at my mom's house. The very next weekend, I went and bought a green Chevy Metro (yep, they used to be Geo Metro). It had no radio but it got the best mileage!!! :D I loved that car, but I will never buy a brand-new car again.

My first car was a 1980 Honda Accord, which I got in 1989. My dad worked out of town a LOT and every time he'd go out of town, the car would break down! LOL A couple of years later, I got a 1991 Ford Festiva, brand new.
