I just finished my first LO for the Race and put in the gallery. :vb_chirolp_iei: My race partner, Joni (Jonimarony) is at work so she won't be able to work on hers until tonight. I just couldn't wait. I wonder what Thursday will bring?

So, 2nd challenge will be posted when?
Like if Tues. is due Sunday what is time frame for 2nd one?
I will be out of town this weekend without internet or even a computer for that matter.

I believe the second one comes out on Thursday and both are due on Sunday unless you prearrange a vacation with them. And prearranging will keep you in the race, but you lose eligibility for the grand prize.

You outdid yourself. Brillant to come up with the idea, the scripture, and journaling. The template and colors are awesome.
And no, I am a rather pokey scrapper. I will have some time Fri. morning and then again Sun. nite, that is if I come home. I am going to have to keep it simple.

Just as clarification . . . . because I don't want any of us to get disqualified for something silly . . . .

Don't we ALSO have to send an e-mail to someone at NDISB with the links to each of the layouts for each challenge each week before the deadline? In other words, posting the layout--even at NDISB--isn't enough. We still have to e-mail them with the links to confirm that we met the challenge, right?

I emailed her again to see if she had received it and an instant reply came saying she had sent out confirmation emails but had 120 messages left to read. Hmm.. Also has anyone received product codes for any prizes. I'm not sure what's going on here. Any help would be appreciated.

Katty - Only one team member does this one. However, I'm not sure whether they both get the $10 gift card. I read it as the team gets $10, so I was figuring on splitting it with my teammate.

Not sure if I helped, but I hope so!

Good luck with your LOs!

Pahina722
08-02-2007, 03:48 PM
Yes, it sounds as if only one person was allowed to submit a layout for it, but that the team members each get the $10 certificate.

Kathy, please check mine to make sure that I haven't messed up the rules! I counted several times this morning--but I was somewhat groggy because I woke up thinking about Challenge 5's layout and couldn't fall back asleep.

Ok, I was just reading the Challenge #6 description again, and I'm wondering if the two patterned paper extras are a requirement or an option. I didn't use any other papers in my LO other than the plain paper background because I read it as an option.

There is just so much stuff involved in this challenge that I don't want to miss anything!

Thanks!

Sara

Pahina722
08-03-2007, 08:31 AM
Sara,

I just looked at it again, and now I think that she is saying you can't use any more than 2 patterned papers, but isn't clear about whether you have to use 2 patterned papers. I did--but I already had them on the layout I was working on. She also says she'd LIKE to see fancy title work, but doesn't specify that there must be any.

Just for the record, the instructions on this challenge could have been MUCH clearer! If, as a teacher, I gave instructions like this for a writing assignment, I'd have students calling or e-mailing constantly asking for clarification.

saraschlick
08-03-2007, 10:06 AM
Paige - I put on my teacher's hat, too, and thought it could have been done much better. I'm a fan of bulleted lists for something this detailed! That way I can check off each criteria as it's been met.

Well, I'm not going to sweat the 2 patterned papers thing. I'm thinking it is just an option.

Thanks for your feedback!

I went to that school for 3 years, and we moved away from that area for several years. When we moved back, my parents looked her up, and we learned that she had died quite suddenly from cancer. I was devastated that I never got to tell her how much she meant to me. On a lighter note, my dad ran into my other teacher (Mrs Hardmeyer-Wright) from that school, and she and I have kept in touch ever since. *biggrin I want to do a page about her now, too! In fact, now I'm inspired to journal a page about all my teachers, as they all helped me grow in so many ways.

lacyrenfro

I think what happened was that each cupon didn't individualy have the set $10 limit. I think the entire cupon for everyone had a limit of however many racers x 10. So a few people figured it out and whent way overboard and nulled out the cupon before everyone could collect thier $10. But I'll check ES & NDIS to be sure! Ok Im back....be sure to enter the cupon in the cupon section at the bottom of the shoping cart page....not the gift certificate on the payment page.

You had to sign up for Danni's blog to get the prize. She wanted control over sending out the prizes. So if you didn't post a link to your layout on her blog thread and sign up for her blog you won't get the prize. Hope that helps.

Thanks Joni.
I wonder if I can still do that. I will check it out.

I was also late posting the link for Danni's challenge. Has anyone else received the reward link? I wonder if I missed out on it. :(

I posted late and haven't heard anything either. I'm going to e-mail the folks at NDISB and see if they can get Danni to do anything about it.

I too posted to her blog late and didn't hear back from her. I guess I should have read it a little closer.

Which link are you looking for, Katty?

I just uploaded mine for #9. I had a hard time choosing! I have so many moments.

Challenge #11 is up.
I still need the link to link my layout to the blog for the prize for challenge #8? I'm not even sure which one it is. I'm confused but its still early here.

Sara, that is my mom's favorite movie, too. Did you also dance to Lawrence Welk?
Babyofmine...link to challenge #8..her blog. I tried the other day and not working for me.
What kit are you looking at for #9. Lots of good ones, but I am looking at the school one because it has a high school slant and w/a high schooler and a middle schooler it is just calling my name....the think is is when do I get pics of them in school at this age? Your choice?

I can't decide! I would usually go for Oh Boy or Study Hall, but I have told myself that I need to get things that aren't "for my boys". :D So I'm leaning towards Cinco de Mayo and Changes, but the surfing one is calling my name! :twitcy:

I don't know how my favorite movie applies to my life. :giggle:

Wow---I've been MIA this week as both my son and I returned to school, but I think things are finally settling down.

This was tough for me, only because I have so many favorite movies. I finally chose the Harry Potter movies (in total) because my son LOVES dressing up and watching them, so I have some cute photos to work with.

Here's my link:

Now, I'm off to look at Kathy's gallery and decide which to "steal."

Bwahahahaha (that was an evil laugh, BTW), Challenge 12 was an easy challenge. I'd already been working on a layout that followed closely Kattyzak's Girl Talk layout from earlier in ADSR . . . . so I just finished mine! Here's the link:

The photo is of my younger brother and me many, many years ago. I've always loved it although I have no idea of what the story behind it is. My parents don't remember anything special either; it's just cute.

Challenge 12 was hard for me. To pick out one page of Lacy's to scraplift.
I've had so much fun, I'm sorry it's ending. I wonder how many are still in??
Good Luck everyone!!!
The prizes are growing everyday, and they are so awesome!!!

Just thought y'all might like to know, there's a forum at NDISB asking for feedback on this year's contest and suggestions for next year. Lots of people have been asking for tighter timelines (!) and harder challenges. The other big request has been to break the humongous Grand Prize into smaller pieces and award, say 1st through 5th place (all still drawn randomly, of course) and maybe small challenge prizes throughout the contest. I noticed that Babydoe nixed the tighter timelines (as did many others after a bit) because that would eliminate those of us who work and/or have small children. I'll be adding my two cents' worth later.
