Would anyone/everyone please pray/have good thoughts/whatever it is you do (!!) for my two eldest girls tomorrow afternoon my time - so morning for the US! Emi who is 10 is taking her grade 2 recorder exam and Alice who is 9 is taking her grade 1 recorder exam. I have no worries about their ability as they are both very capable of getting a decent grade. BUT, I know that both of them are going to be very very nervous (but probably not as nervous as me!!) Please pray that they won't be too nervous and that they will perform to the best of their ability.

Thank you so very very much everyone!!

I'm thinking of you this morning and sending up prayers that they both do well - I just know they will! Let us know how it goes!

they might already be done by now, but I'm sending good vibes their way!!!!

BTW Brandi, a recorder is a musical instrument....kinda like the flute. I know Joy had to explain the exact same thing to me once...lol!! :D

Keeping them in prayer! Joy!

Thank you sooooooo much everyone - we have just got back now and they are completely hyped up - relief I think it is!! They both said there were things they know they did wrong, but on the plus side, they both said that the sight reading pieces they were given weren't technically sight reading as they were pieces that I had already given them as practise sight reading!! lol!! They both said the aural part of the exam was hard, but everyone hates that part of the exam, so thats not a bad sign!!

We won't get the results for a couple of weeks yet, and they have a big dance show to get out of the way before we hear, so have to focus on that now!!

And yes, a recorder is a bit like a flute/oboe/clarinet - except it has no reed!

I thought I had replied with a picture of one earlier on but in my nervousness I must have forgotten!!

Here is a photo of Alice playing her recorder taken a couple of years ago when someone asked me the same question!!!

they sure didn't hurt! And am sure they can work in hindsight too!

I was late in reading all this, but I'm sure they did very well! Do let us know the results of their exams! I have saved the recorder that two of my sons used in school; it is over 30 years old now. I'll be passing it along to one of the GS one of these days. I'd be thrilled if one of them learns to play a musical instrument. My flute brought me a great deal of pleasure for many years.
