I keep thinking I'll get some cute little announcement made to invite ya'll to a speed scrap this week, but truthfully, it'll never happen, and I'd rather spend my limited time designing, LOL...SOOOOOOO...............

No cutesy invites, just hard-core speed scrappin'!

Join me Thursday, March 17th, at 10pm EDT/9pm CDT/8pm MDT/7pm PDT...you can check on other time zones HERE (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/)

Be sure to wear green, bring 1-3 photos, and your mojo (or desire to find it) and prepare yourself for a typical Dancing Princess Speed Scrap! What's typical about a Dancing Princess Speed Scrap, you ask???? That you don't know what to expect except a challenge...but a fun one :)

P.S. You can set yourself a reminder on the calendar HERE (http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=1004&day=2011-3-17)

Welcome!!

If you're new...here's the fine print....

These prompts are made to be challenging, but not to be discouraging. If one of the suggestions completely confuses you, and you want to throw in the towel,
pull out your Creative License, and interpret it the way you'd like, or that fits with your layout. This exercise is to help you get out of your comfort zone,
stop over-analyzing every little thing, and get some pages done!! There are no Speed Scrap Police...at least not at my SS parties :) Take the opportunity to try
something new, and to stretch and grow. You never know...some of my favorite pages have been Speed Scrap pages!

If you're not new...then you know the drill!

I had to ask the same thing, Maggie! It is apparently a digi scrap challenge based on the television show "The Amazing Race". You partner with another scrapper to "run" it ... you have to both complete layouts in a certain amount of time in order to move on to the next challenge ... it should be exciting!

It is an amazing adventure, and sometimes the challenges are a challenge
but overall I think it helps to expand your scrapping and you get to see a ton of new and different styles that you may not have ever thought about before.

Well, I was lucky tonight and chose a kit that had circular elements (thanks Jenn). How cool!

Can't wait to see it!

1. Pick one or two papers. If you choose two papers, layer them on top of each other, one slightly smaller than the other.
2. Choose one to three photos. If you choose one or two, duplicate so that you have three photos total. "Cut" into circular shapes, getting gradually smaller.
3. Blend (or use opacity) to blend an element into your background.
4. Place your photos vertically (but offset) down the page.
5. Select two more papers and "cut" into circular shapes to layer with photos. Can also choose 2 circular type elements instead.
6. Layer elements of choice under and over photos, maintaining the vertical composition.

I just realized the kit I choose (an oldie but goodie of Jenn's,) I lost part of the kit when my hard drive crashed a while back, so am going to have to improvise. Bummer

Anna, have you tried just using the Night Scene setting and a tripod to take a long shutter speed shot?

No I haven't. I may need to do that after the ss.

Is it one you can get reset in the shop, Cathy? I am shame-faced to say I don't remember the policy on resetting links...how bad is that?

I have no idea on the policy for resetting either. Never thought about asking.

OK! That's the last one! Finish your pages and upload your layout to the Speed Scrap Gallery (http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=927) and if you post by the time I wake up in the morning you are still eligible for the posting bonus and gift certificate!
Be sure and post here in the thread with a link to your page in the gallery so we can all leave some love!

Since the baby's not screaming I'll probably be around long enough to finish my LO, so I'll try to answer any questions that might come up :)

Thanks so much for coming!

This was so much fun! Thank you for hosting Jenn! This is a lot simpler then I usually create, but every time I added something more it didn't look right.
