That's just not right, so sorry for you and your family. Let's hope he's a real fighter - our prayers are with you Dawn.

Thank you so much! It sounds like he will be on the lung machine for quite a while. They are already talking about surgery soon, if they can keep him stable.
No one has held him. He has not even opened his eyes. But when his mom or dad talk to him, he lifts his hand. It's sooo sweet to see.
When they opened the tent to take some more scans, I snapped some quick pics of him holding his dads finger, and they asked me to scrap a page for them.
So I'll get that posted as soon as I can.

Bad news first: They did the scope and found a defect preventing his lungs from working.
The good news: They think they can fix it!! Woo Hoo!! It will be a long process, but they are very hopeful!
Here are the pictures I took, when they removed the lid and some sensors, for some tests.

How prescious Dawn. Praying that they can fix it and he can live a long and healthy life then.

Glad to know there is a solution in sight! So many things they can do today for little ones that they couldn't do a few years ago - hopefully he will have perfect lungs soon - thanks for sharing the sweet photos!

Is there any (hopefully good) news about
Little Gideon ?

01-03-2011, 05:12 PM
Yes!!! It looks like their "fix" is starting to work!!! With the help of the machine, he is now breathing at 25%! He still has not opened his eyes yet... but twice yesterday he tried to cry! There was no sound, because of his lungs, but the fact that he tried is HUGE!!! Such an awesome way to start the new year!! =)

Thanks for the update Dawn. I will add your family and Guideon to my prayer list too.
He is a gorgeous baby.

That sounds indeed much better than before.
Thank you, Dawn. I really hope he will soon
catch up.My prayers to Gideon and his whole

He's home!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!! Last week, they took baby Gideon off of the machine, and he got to come home this weekend!
He still has to be on oxygen 24/7, and will have to be taken in 5 days a week for IV meds... But he gets to be home with his family!
Thank you everyone for your support and prayers! :love-smiley-011:
