I have been working really hard to get a school website posted and be able to keep it current so I decided to take on the task myself.....who knows all the stuff that is going on on our campus???? That would be me. So I'm pretty proud of what I have finally been able to put together. I have control and will be able to update it all the time. I even have a BLOG!!! I guess that is part of the reason I haven't been around here much lately!! So if you have a chance visit my site at www.reillymustangs.com AND when you find my pic, click the link under it to go to my blog!! Feel free to leave a message if you'd like. It's not limited to our school community! Thanks for listening (reading)to my rants!

Great job Anna!

Can I give you a helpful hint: you do have an odd spacing issue on the home page, under "School Facts". If you get rid of all the spaces between the words it should line up right.

Change it from:
</div>
<p style="text-align: left;"><font color="#080855"><b>Grades:&nbsp;</b> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; PPCD/Pre-Kinder-5th Grades</font></p>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>

To this:
</div>
<p align="center" style="text-align: left;"><font color="#080855"><b>Grades:</b> PPCD/Pre-Kinder-5th Grades</font></p>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>

Yep, you did it! The web doesn't like spaces, use enter or shift/enter and you should be good to go!

BTW - if you want to see your code, right click on your page, click view source and a new window will open.

I had to edit my last two posts, I shouldn't type before I finish my coffee. :)

I would also like to see your scrolling text go all the way across instead of ending in the center of the page, have you tried that?

I can't figure out how to do that!! I've tried a couple of different things this week so I guess I'm going to have to break down and send go daddy a question because you are so right!!!

Does the editor give you the option to edit the HTML? If so, find this line, it might be on line 193 ...

var gds_marquee_contents503027741='<center>,span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;font-size:12pt;white-space:nowrap;">' + gds_Text503027741 + '</span><center>'

...and remove the 2 <center> commands and that SHOULD fix it. I think. I don't have much experience with scrolling marquee's.

Great job Anna. Sounds like Lisa is being a super helper to get your page all fixed up.
I knew you could get your site going! Good job.

Lisa,
There are no "center" in the html. Oh and there aren't that many lines but I did find the line with the marquee piece and this is what it says:

<font color="#7f1609"><img alt="" style="border-width: 1px; border-style: solid;" class="scrollingMarquee" src="http://imagesak.websitetonight.com/ftb/images/utility/scrollingHorizontalMarqueePlaceHolder.gif" text="Reilly Mustangs ROCK!!!" direction="left" alignment="right" speed="6" font="Comic Sans MS" font_size="12pt" /></font><br />
</font></font></font></b></font></div>

The site does allow me to use html and if I knew how to do html, it might help!! lol

Oh and Lisa, I love your name plate. I'd love to figure out how to do that and have some mustangs galloping across the screen!!! Any tutorials out there that you know of?

I don't know much HTML code myself, but I use it sometimes to find errrors or fix something funky.

As for the animated horses, all you really need is one horse with legs down and one with legs up, paste them into seperate layers moving them a 1/2" or so in each layer. Funny thing is - I can't figure out the animation timing in CS5, I go back to CS to do the timing. I really need to work on that. I'm sure there are some tut's out there, if I find one I'll let you know.

Here's a screen shot of all the layers, then you use the animation timeline to do the timing...

Here's a good how-to video for making GIF's in CS5.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qr16vtlCgss

And I solved my timeline issue, when you open the animation panel (Window/Animation) you may see the Animation (Timeline) pane, if so click the lowest bottom right toggle (it's a very tiny rectangle) to switch to Animation (Frames) pane.

I found the animation stuff on my cs5. Now I have to find a mustang and play some. Thanks for the video!!
