Ok, I have just bought myself an ipod to listen to at the gym, but am struggling to fill it - its only 1GB, so how my 9 and 10 year old dds have managed to fill their 2GB ones, I don't know! lol!!

Anyway, the reason I am struggling is cos I need gym-appropriate music - ie, nothing slow and sleepy!

So, what is on your ipod/stereo/computer, or what do you recommend I put on it????

Black Betty by Ram Jam is a must. Quite a few bands do a rendition of this song and I am witness to it's ability to get people who you'd never think would ever dance again, get up and move. My nephew's band played this at my mother's 80th birthday party and there were more than a few octogenarians out on the dance floor for this song. lol :)

Check out this website!

They have playlists here submitted by trainers, and you can even search by the type of activity you're doing.

Okay, I'm totally dating myself here, but I think I remember from the age thread that you are in your 30s, too. I am a child of the 80s and I just loved 80s music and one night, in the wee hours of the morning, when I was up nursing my baby, I saw one of those infomercials for 80s Gold. The set is like $100.00 and I just didn't want to spend that, so I just went to the site, picked the songs I liked and bought those from itunes. I use a lot of them for working out.

Here's the link - you just click on each album to see the tracks listed.

Always loved the star wars sound track - it was so energering to ride my bike to. Top gun was also great for that too.
