Join me in this thread for a speed scrap this coming Saturday night at 9pm EST :)

Last week we lost my father-in-law to cancer so that, needless to say, is fresh and consuming of my mind. The theme for this speed scrap will be TRIBUTE.

Choose 1 photo....

Of course, anyone who participates will get a participation bonus and one lucky random participant will win a $5 coupon to my store! If you use any of my products for your layout, you'll get a 25% off coupon to my store!

See you then!

I have to pass on the speed scrap tonight. You ladies have a great time. I am with Anna, and sure need a speed scrap to get my Mojo back but was asked out for dinner by some friends who we haven't seen in a while and couldn't tell them no, I felt the need for speed instead, lol.

Holly, I'm so sad for your loss. A tribute is what one needs in this case. I'm losing my father for the same reason and I feel more amphatic with him now and I've already started to make tribute pages. No deep journaling but photos with him, especially when he was younger, so that he can enjoy them before he will not be able to see them. I wish I could participate to the SS, but in my country 9 pm will be the middle of the night. I hope you have a good SS.

Hi all! I'm a little sunburn from being on the ball field alot of the day today. I don't know about you but I'm surely glad that it's the weekend! I hope you all have fun tonight with me and really appreciate that you all are here...

As always, I don't run this with an iron fist....I don't count pieces, etc! Use your creative interpretation of my prompts to build your layout and what matters to me is that you have fun and like your finished creation...

And remember your refresh button in your browser is your friend to keep up with what's going on in this thread. Post often so you have a good chance at winning $5 in my store!

Here we go........

Step 1: Pick two papers, one solid and one patterned. Layer the solid paper on top of the patterned exposing 1/3 of the bottom paper.

For your pic just save one that you want for the web then go to the User CP found on the top left of the GDS page and find the "change avatar" box. Then it will prompt you to load your pic similar to the way you upload a layout.

Do you have a template that has a curved paper as an element? Drag that curved layer from the template onto your layout and clip the top paper to it :) If not, again no worries....just leave the top paper as a straight edge.

Not sure what you mean by "peaking thru and can be seen"? Do you want the top layer opacity reduced so you can see thru it, or just have the picture sticking out from under the paper?

Oh dear! I have manged to get mine into the Gallery but not sure how to link it to here!

I forgot how to insert the photo also!

you can load it to gallery. Then right click on layout and choose copy location. Come to the thread and start a message then click on the Insert Image Icon (yellow box with a mountain range) and paste the location in.

This was a great speed scrap...thank you Holly.
But it was a hard one to do with tears flowing all over the keyboard.
I might be 53 years old but I still miss my mum so much. :sad44:

Just sent out the coupons for your participation! Everyone got my Waiting for Spring Alpha (http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_dnld_info&cPath=29_72&products_id=6356) that I think is versatile and can be used with many of your kits in your library. It coordinates with my new Waiting for Spring kit (http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_dnld_info&cPath=29_72&products_id=6355) :)

Here is the layout I did that inspired this speed scrap. Hubby came to me with the poem as his father was ill and I think it conveyed his continued hope for his father to fight! While I changed up some of the steps for the speed scrap...I think you'll see some similarities :)
