Ok, not tooting me, but Lucie (my 9 year old dd)!
She took her grade 2 recorder exam 2 weeks ago (some of you might remember that she took her grade 1 in the summer - her teacher was so impressed with how well she did that she entered her for her grade 2 this term - doesn't usually work like that - it usually is at least 2 terms between the lower grades simply because of the amount of time it usually takes to learn three new pieces and the new scales)
Anyway, we got the results yesterday - and she got a distinction!! 130/150 - the exact same result as for her grade 1!! I really wasn't sure that she would get a distinction this time as the examiner was described by the head of music as a 'battleaxe'!!! But, she has worked so hard and really deserves to have done so well!
Now she is hoping to get on and do grade 3!!!
