Hello everyone, I am ready for this

j_camargo6
11-28-2009, 05:04 AM
Wahoo!! You're all here!

I was afraid I'd be speed scrappin by myself, LOL...it is a little early, but our international friends don't get to join us in the evening SS's so I thought I'd shake things up a little...

THANKS for coming!!

j_camargo6

Welcome!

Just a quick reminder of our guidelines....

The instructions are as follows:
You'll receive 1 instruction every 10 minutes for the next hour. Artistic Interpretation is allowed, just let us in on how you got to where you ended up. Once the hour is up, you'll have another hour to upload your layout to the Speed Scrap Challenge Gallery (link will be posted later) and to link it back in this thread.
If you're new, or lost, feel free to ask any question you like! I, or one of our fabulous SS Junkies will be happy to answer! DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED! Sometimes the steps might seem difficult...or sometimes they ARE difficult...don't give up! Pull our your Creative License and do what you feel, or go where it leads you :)...we don't want anyone to feel "lost"....the goal is to create a place where you can get your SS rush, and try something new! And honestly, some of my favorite pages were ones I threw together in a Speed Scrap! So enjoy!
You will NOT be disqualified unless you don't post a layout...so what have you got to lose? Let's have some FUN!

j_camargo6
11-28-2009, 05:06 AM
Ready?

1. Pick one paper OR use two papers, but blend them together

j_camargo6
11-28-2009, 05:11 AM
We got started a couple of minutes late, so I know this seems like it's coming really fast, but take heart...this will be the most taxing instruction this morning...after this it's all downhill :)

1. Pick one paper OR use two papers, but blend them together
2. Use 2-4 photos (if using less than 4, duplicate one or two, so that you have 4 pictures on your page), three very close up, and one moderately close up. Arrange the photos horizontally across your page, tilted at different angles and slightly overlapping.

Tech guys (still in bed) says "make sure that all the machines are members of the same work group, which by default is named 'work group'. Then verify the following settings for the home/work/public profile....turn on "network discovery" it needs to be selected. Turn on "file" and "printer sharing" (if you are sharing a printer). Then turn on "sharing" so anyone with network access can read and write files in the public folders. (all three of these radio buttons need to be selected)"

Are you ready for the last one?

3. Pick ONE frame, and use it on your "moderate close up" photo. Position this photo so that it's "on top" in your "slightly overlapped" arrangement.
4. Use 1-3 seasonal elements and layer underneath your photos (for example, if your photo is a fall photo, use leaves or pumpkins, etc)
5. Use ONE (simple) element repeated several times scattered around the page, in varying sizes.
6. Use two bows or one duplicated (if you're making a boy layout, find some substitute...just use two) and layer in and around your photos. Add some sparkly stuff if you like. Add word art or journaling.

Now you have one hour to finish up. Then upload to the SPEED SCRAP Challenge Gallery (http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=927) and link it up back here!

Thanks for coming everyone! It's great to be Speed Scrapping again! (Anybody else's life feel like it's in the spin cycle?)

Thanks for hosting Jenn!
I used quite a bit of "artistic expression." My photos are from November of last year but in Alabama..we can barely tell there are 'seasonal changes." We wear light jackets until January or February and even then it's not that cold. So my layout was driven by how I felt at that time of year...in awe of my daughter...she was still so "new" to me.

Here's my layout:
