I was lying in bed last night thinking about this!!! LOL I just need to know, cause I am a nosy girl, how old is everyone? Not that it matters, it's just one of those burning questions that needs to be answered for me. I won't sleep until it is... LOL ... who am I kidding... I don't sleep anyway... LOL

Since I'm the nosy one, I will go first...

I am thirty six and I will be thirty seven on September 30! I hate that when you fill out surveys, that I can no longer check the 18 - 34 box... :(

I am 27, almost 28...enjoying teasing my DH about turning 30 over the weekend :) Can't tease too much though....paybacks can be worse than you expect :)

I'm 36, will be 37 in August.

Speaking of teasing hubbies, my hubby is 60 an will be 61 in August, so he gets a senior discount most places .... now that's fun to tease about!!

(BTW, 30 is no big deal, LOL!!)

As of last Monday, I am 34!! I have to say, I hated turning 30, I don't know why, I just really didn't like it. I thought at the time that it might have been the feeling that I had to be responsible if I was 30, but I already had my 3 girls by then, and if that isn't responsibility enough, I don't know what is!! lol!!

Ok, I am 54. I'll be 55 in August. I don't feel my age though.
My mind says I'm 26 yet. But the body, the body says, Oy vey!
My husband is 4 years older than me and I tease him a lot about the senior discounts., but now he can tease me. LOL He even enrolled us AARP for a while!. LOL

Do we have to tell the truth? LOL !!! Well, okay, since you asked, i'm the oldest to admit my age in this thread so far, i'm 40 and will be 41 (i'm going to faint at the sound of that) in August. Phew, now that wasn't so hard.... :)

Strangely, it really wasn't so bad turning 40, somehow.. i think counting my blessings and being grateful for the place i'm at really helped...

03-30-2007, 08:11 AM
Hey, Maisie, you beat me to the thread!

And yes, now that you mentioned, the most obvious signs of my age is having to read with the papers benig held at a great distance away from me!!!!!

okblues
03-30-2007, 09:05 AM
Well, since everyone is admitting theirs.....I'm 48, will be 49 in June and hubby will hit that 50 mark in June as well. Agreeed Maisie, I don't feel my age mentally, just physically. And when I had to go to bifocal glasses 2 years ago, I almost cried. That just symbolized old age for me, lol.

steph
03-30-2007, 09:36 AM
None of you look as old as you say you are... LOL

03-30-2007, 09:53 AM
LOL......since y'all are being so honest....although....I don't believe ANY of you!!! You are all much younger than you are admitting to being!!

I am 27.....will be 28 on April 10. My DH is 5 years older than me.

I know what you ladies mean about mental age and physical age compared to calendar age

I still act like I'm in my 20's - going out with my friends to karaoke and dance clubs. I am doing things now that I wanted to do in my 20's but had this mental block that since I had kids I couldn't - like piercings and tattoos. I want a harley (but think that will have to wait until these kids move out since all the money seems to go to expenses for them, LOL)

I feel, on the other hand, like I'm much older than my age - with joint issues since I was in high school .

Anyway - Joy, maybe that's why 30 was no big deal for me - maybe it is a big deal for many because they feel that they finally have to be responsible. For me, I married at 20 and kids came with the marriage, LOL. So I guess I already felt responsible and 30 was just a number to me.

anyway, enough rambling from me ... :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah:

That is lucky!! I used to *think* I was lucky back in high school because I looked older than I was and could often walk into places I shouldn't have been and buy things I shouldn't have had, LOL. Now I fight to look younger .....

lol - I guess I must look young for my age, as the other day, Emi had a friend come round to play. Because her Mum (who is only a couple of years older than me, so is 36) was working, her grandmother dropped her off at our house. When she went back, she told the friends Mum that "I don't think Emily's Mum was there because her big sister answered the door and told me to collect her at 4pm" - Emi doesn't have a big sister, it was me!!

I'm 50.2 years old. I decided when I turned 50 that it was going to take me 10 years to be 51. Since I don't feel like I'm in my 50's, I don't see why I can't spread out my age. :) I've wanted to dabble in scrapbooking for almost 15 years, but didn't want the hassle of all the supplies to keep up with. Finally in my 50's I discovered DIGITAL and I'm in heaven.

I like to say that I'm 29.95 plus shipping and handling!!
I have a friend who was fine last year when she turned 30, but ths year was freaking out over her 31st - so I told her that she was 29.95 plus tax.

So, if you are in the bottom half of the decade - plus tax; if you are in the top half - plus shipping and handling. And if you have actually passed into the next decade, I suppose it could be both, LOL. :twitcy:

I must be the class old lady, then, at 64. I think you are all beautiful and the classiest young women I've been around in long time. I live in a retirement community, but I'm not going to stay, because I'm not ready for this. As long as I have an active, imaginative mind and my intellect, I refuse to become one of "them". DH and I celebrated 40 years of marriage last September. Although I am old enough to be a grandmother to many of you, I am late in getting started in that arena and still have much to learn. I plan to move to Texas within a year to help my son raise his son, the delightful child you see on my pages. Being a single mother is tough - I've been there and done that - but being a single father is worse, I believe, and I will once again enjoy being around much younger people. I thrive on your energy, so keep it girls!

I'm in that fair to middlin' category! I'm 38 now .. and I CAN'T be old! How on earth can you feel old with 4 kids running around and being pregnant at the same time?? ....

ok ok .. sometimes I feel all achy and blucky (yes, I made that up) but never OLD!

It's neat seeing how young at heart everyone else is :)
Corina, you win for youngest! - so far anyhow!

I I hate that when you fill out surveys, that I can no longer check the 18 - 34 box... :(

I don't mind that this year I will be in that smallest category at the bottom of the poll. Each year that I add to the total means that I WIN! When I get my knees fixed, I plan to kick Father Time in the caboose! I WILL dance again, and shake my booty (what's left of it) and thumb my nose at anybody who says I'm too old to do something.

I am 37 and proud of it. Waiting for that big 44, when my youngest will be 18. Then I can start living with hopefully not worrying so much. Even though I don't think that will be possible, since I am the queen of being a worry w:dancing: ort.

chronologically i turned 48 in feb - mentally i'm still a kid (dh keeps hoping i'll grow up - he's real old) - my five kids range from 22 to 28 - the youngest gets married this weekend and two others are engaged - i have two granddaughters - one is 9, the other is 6 weeks - the 9 year old lives with me & folks who don't know us think she's mine - i've always believed age is in the mind, but lately i've been getting subliminal messages from mother nature (like jump-roping hurts the knees, and the newspaper folks must be using smaller print) - but as long as i can out run her, mother nature ain't catching me -

38 here, but having a three year old and an infant keeps me young - well, partially, sometimes I feel like I'm 100! Seriously, I have loved my 30s - I was 31 when I met my husband, 33 when we married, 34 when I had my first daughter, and 37 when I had my second. This has definitley been the best decade of my life. And I'm looking forward to my 40s, when I just know things are going to be even better!

I turned 51 in January and Im really enjoying this time in my life. :dancing:
No kids around in the house (although I was missing them terrible when they left one by one) just me and my 12 years younger hubby.
My oldest daughter (27) is pregnant and I will become a grandmother any day now. My son (25 tomorrow) lives about 200 m from here as a neighbor to his sister. My youngest (20 on May 18) lives about 100 km away.

The mirror tells me Im getting older and my arms are not long enough to read.
But the age is about how you feel and act and sometimes it seems Im acting more "childish" than my kids. :aetsch:
