Yup! You just can't post a direct link to any other websites/products.

I copied and pasted what is below in red, it is stated just above the layouts that are in the Gallery. No linking anywhere in you description or elsewhere where credits are given, not sites either. You may use other products but basically when using papers, elements, etc from other sites, name the kit and designer only

Here you'll find inspiration and ideas from our member creations using our products primarily! When posting a layout that includes elements from other products, we respectfully request that you not add links to other sites in your credits.

Hope this helps you

I was able to upload my first LO..looks ok but i heard i have to make it "web ready". I followed a tutorial on another site but it didn't work..it was for a higher version of PSE.
I use PSE 3 , when i was done my LO i merged all file & saved it as a jpg (i also saved my PSD files). My specification for my jpeg is 8.95 MB 3600 pixel x3600 , 300 resolution-I am not sure what i am doing here -I am hoping to find a tutorial for getting layouts ready for post (with step by step as i am very new)! Any direction would be very much appreciated.
thank you

Hi Natacha
Once you complete your layout, at the top click on IMAGE then go down to image size, change it to 600x600 pixels, it will look really tiny, don't worry about that. Once you reduce the image size then go to FILE and down to Save for Web, you will then see that the kb's are reduced, I don't know what PSE 3 has but most have where you can decrease the kb's on the right, but usually changing the image size to 600 x600 will get you the right size for posting. Then save it whereever you save your layouts for posting.
Good Luck, Ill be looking for your layout.

I don't think there was any audio with the video on how to upload layouts, but wanted to make sure?

There is audio. Is your computer sound turned up all the way? Also check the volume slider on the actual video box (at bottom right for my plug-in). Is your plug-in for video updated? I don't know what other things to suggest, but those you should check out.

Something I've noticed in the gallery lately is links put into the "Credits" field. This doesn't work; clicking on them takes you to an error page. The links to the GDS items need to be in the "GDS Store Items Used" field. And don't forget about putting the appropriate product code for the kit in the "Keyword" field--that's to facilitate users being able to see various layouts using a particular kit. You'll find the product code in the Tech Info column for the kit description.

Thanks for the tips Dona
I know I am always putting my links in the wrong field -- it is those little boxes and my glasses being "missing" lol

A suggestion I found at another site, regarding how to get the correct information to put in your gallery descriptions:
When you purchase a kit and unzip it, there's some kind of TOU (Terms of Use) from the designer. Open that (it's usually a text document), and add a few lines to the top of the file that include the store link to that item and the product code (found on the store page, under "Tech Info"). You could also include the store from which you purchased the kit to help you sort it to the right folder, according to your own organization scheme.
When you do this, then you can simply open the TOU document and have all the information at your fingertips for when you post your layout in the gallery. And don't forget the tutorials on this site which guide you in posting and linking!

OMG... This is always an intimidating process for me and on another board I tried to follow what several people were throwing at me to do and was TOTALLY LOST! This is a fantastic tutorial video! THANK YOU SO MUCH for saving me/us from tearing out hair and screaming or giving up totally!

If you go to the Gallery, you will see an Upload Photos link near the top and on the right side inside of a green bar. You must be logged in first though. Select this and another window will open that looks like this below:

It automatically comes up to Member Galleries selection bar. This is where most photos go. You will be given another option on the next page to add to more than one gallery. Select choose file and go to where it is on your computer and select it. Then hit the Upload/Submit button. It will say "Preparing to upload the image". Another window comes up with "Optional Info". Here is where you can select multiple galleries to upload to. Fill in all the information in the boxes. If you've used a Go Digital Scrapbooking kit, there's a box for you to put the kit link in there. Hit "Process" and your image will upload. Make sure it's 72 dpi and about 600 x 600 and you should have no problems uploading.

Hope this helps.

Yeah.....I see your layout in the gallery.

Look at the top of the page for the Headers.

You should see Shoppe Forum Gallery Chat

Click on Gallery and you are there!

Welcome to GDS!

I uploaded, followed directions, didn't see it come up in "Galleries", like it showed in the video. So where did it go?

Now I have to add, in order to prepare my layout, since I use Corel Draw X4 for creating my scrapbook pages, cards, etc., I also use PSE9, but only for the editing part, as I'm a newbie to this program too. I saved my file as a png, instead of jpg. I found to get it ready for websize, I really had to cut it down in size to get it just a tad under 150kb's using my Corel Draw Photo-Paint program. I know, I need to learn how to do all this in PSE9. Also it took me over an hour to prepare my page (actually a 5x7 card I scrapped) for "web-size".

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Oops, "now" I see my card lo in the gallery, guess I didn't wait long enough for it to load there. I would of put this note underneath the note I posted before (few mins ago) but can't find it here, and this is where I posted the previous note. Geez, this is so confusing to me. It's been around 6 years since I joined a forum and lost all knowledge when doing it back then. So, I'm learning all over again.

I finished my last msg, posted it, and it brought me back here, and goodness sakes, here is my previous note! <huge blush> lol. Learn and live.
