Uh oh, someone give me a quick idea of what blending is.

blending can really be just about anything

you can put one paper on top of the other and adjust the opacity

what scrapping software do you use?

in Photoshop, there are blending modes when you are in the "layers" menu
blending can be adjusting those -- soft light, luminosity, hard light, color burn
you can clip or erase parts of the paper and then simply adjust your opacity or one of the blending modes to get some interesting effects

or if you want to take creative license, you can use a paper that has some soft muted colors
the rules of the SS are not strict at all

So if the designer didn't put a journaling block in the kit, does that exempt me from #6?

D'oh! Should have seen #6 coming! Hmmm, how to fit in journaling....

Yeah, I've run out of room! Guess I'll have to shift things around

Oh gosh, I'm so late, but maybe I can catch up. Thursdays are dinner out with the DH and DD for us, so hard to get here at 6pm my time.

1. Pick 2 papers. Use blending modes to alter papers.
2. Pick 1-4 Christmas photos. Choose one to blend into the background of your page. Erase the edges to soften them, if desired.
3. Use an element to divide your page...either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
4. Pick one element/shape/word and repeat it throughout your page.
5. Create a title using an alpha.
6. Place journaling on your page....at least one paragraph, about the traditions surrounding your family's holidays, or what the holidays mean to you.
7. Add the date, and anything else you'd like to put on your page.

Ok, so you all have an hour (give or take) to finish up, and post your LO in the Speed Scrap Gallery (http://http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=927). Then link it back here so we can all find it to leave you some L-O-V-E!

Thanks everyone for putting up with my rough start! I hope it hasn't been a rough SS for you!

Liz - HAH!! The frog was right! <g>

i was so thinking of you when she started to talk about it
she was so surprised i had ever heard of it before

and speaking of the frog -- we found two on 4th july -- she was crushed when dh's friend said "here's the deal, the frogs are going back on the tree...."
tears and tears -- she wanted to keep them and make them her new pets

Adriana - that's a great layout! I went to the speedscrap album to comment and I don't see it there? Can you add it to the speedscrap gallery? Thanks a million! If you're not sure how, just edit the photo and... I can look it up from there.
