Time for the end of the month Speed Scrap again! Where has the month gone?

Well, right now I have family visiting, so I have decided to do a "themed" Speed Scrap! The theme is, of course, FAMILY!! Because of this, I put my kit "We Are Family" and it's add-on and tiles on sale until the end of the month for 40% off!

If you use the kit, We Are Family, for the speed scrap on Friday, you will get a bonus gift from me! One catch, you have to use the '"kit", not just the add-on or a tile...

Here is your Participation Prize! I hope you like it! These frames are fun to use in your LO's! Click HERE (http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=59600&ppuser=15242) to see them in use on one of my LO's!

http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee167/therottenprincess/sbd_lineframes01_LRG.jpg

There will also be a bonus for whoever uses my "We Are Family" Kit....I will try to get that posted too!
Here is the kit, click on the preview to get it!

So, I know you all like a little hint about the speed scrap, so my hint is, you need 1 picture and, of course, it needs to be a picture of a member(s) of your family in it, since Family is the theme! Don't forget, there will be an extra gift for me for using my "We Are Family" kit! I'm not going to tell you what the gift is, but it has to do with "Christmas in July" next month here at GDS!!

Hope to see you tomorrow night!!!

Don't know if I will make this one after all, my DD is adding #5 Foster Child to the family next week. Kayden, 3 months old. Yes, also a sibling of the other 4. So, we are going over to help to get the bedrooms rearranged and baby bed set up today. Hope to be back in time for the speed scrap, but if not, have a super fun time.

I'm counting on Chanin to make this real easy, as I am on my DD laptop with no mouse, and her version of PSE is set up totally different than mine, so I am scrapping kind of blind. I brought some files on my Flash Drive just so I could do this speed scrap.

Welcome girls!! How is everyone tonight! I'm gonna try to be easy on you, but I'm be giving you more "exact" instructions.

For any of you that don't know, this is how we do it!

Every 10 minutes for an hour I will give you a direction for you LO! At the end of the hour I will give you your final instruction and then you will have 1 hour to complete your LO and post it in the speed scrap gallery. Then come back here and post a link to your LO so I know you have finished and so we can all leave you some love!!

Most of all, have fun and if you have any questions, ask!!!

Here is your first instruction:

1. Pick out 3 papers - 2 plain & 1 patterned. Make 1 of the plain papers your background and then put your patterned paper on top of that one, in the middle, centered with about a 1 inch border around the entire page.

wow you are being really exact. OK I will see which picture I end up with. The colors of your kit and theme are perfect for my Grandma's family album I'm doing so I was going to do my brother's page tonight but it should work for anyones photo. Will have to see if we get a mael or female feeling layout to see who goes in.

Chanin
06-26-2009, 05:21 PM
OK, I hope this is not too confusing...

1. Pick out 3 papers - 2 plain & 1 patterned. Make 1 of the plain papers your background and then put your patterned paper on top of that one, in the middle, centered with about a 1 inch border around the entire page.

2. Pick out one picture of someone in your family. A rectangle picture will work best!

3. Put your picture in one corner of your patterned paper. You should leave about 2 inches on one side of the picture (showing the patterned paper) and about 4-5 inches on the other side, depending on the orientation of the picture.

LOL!! Yeah, some people crop in different shapes!!

britnkaysmemaw2

I agree. i ended up with a 4x6 in the lower half of the square. If you have a 10 inch paper and indent 2in on one side and 4 in of the other you only have 4in left for a portrait 4x6. Am I getting my math wrong?:confused1:

So, we kinda have a color block thing going here. The kind that I would never do with real paper b/c I can't cut even rectanges (even with a paper cutter).

Chanin
06-26-2009, 05:43 PM
Does this rectangle need to be the length of the photo or length of the patterned paper or am I way off base?

Neither. It should be in the opposite corner and it can really be any length as long as some of your patterned paper is still showing at the end of it (which should be under or beside your picture, depending on whether you did vertical or horizontal).

It's just like you did your picture, but smaller and meets your picture. Does that help?

thought I understood, but not sure. I did the opposite corner as in picture in bottom right and paper in top left with corners touching. Are they supposed to be side by side then run a ribbon down the middle? Sorry my brain is not working properly today.

With the plain paper rectangle -- is it in the exact corner as well (Plain and patterned boarding) or is it set in a little from the exact corner?

Also, which way should the ribbon go - horizontal or vertical?

A ribbon would be in the middle of your pic and plain paper that are in the corners...does that help??

Almost done!

4. Take your other plain paper & cut it into a rectangle to fit in the corner opposite of your picture. Have it meet your picture, but not overlap or go under. You also want to have part of your patterned paper showing beside it.

5. Where your picture and plain paper meet, place a ribbon across the seam, the length of your patterned paper.

6. Put a big title on the plain paper that is in the corner.

So the top plain paper?

so, do we still have about 4 inches of patterned paper showing above the pic? (I put mine in the lower left corner) and the plain paper is the same height as the pic with some pattern left showing after?

so...pic in left corner then rectangle of plain then patterned sticking out?

Your ribbon will just run the length of your patterned paper and not onto your background paper. But it will cover the seam of where your picture and plain paper with the title on it touch.

5. Where your picture and plain paper meet, place a ribbon across the seam, the length of your patterned paper.

6. Put a big title on the plain paper that is in the corner.

7. Add any other embellishments that you think your page needs!

When you are finished post your picture in the speed scrap gallery HERE (http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=927)! Then come back here and let me know you are finished and post a link to your LO in the gallery so we can leave you some love!

You have until 11pm EST!!!

Thanks everyone for playing tonight! Can't wait to see your LO's!!!
