I just bought this kit and (the nicest way I can put it) I am disappointed.

Silly me, when I looked at the preview of the words. I thought each word would be in a file that I could drag into each layout as needed. For example 1st Grade would involve draging two files in.

I should have read the item list closer, because it is actually 5 sheets with 46 words (5 different styles) on one page. Luckily I took Andrea's class so I know how to crop the 46 words and make them into their own file to be able to use them. Although I have no idea how to crop each word to the same size, so they can easily be re-sized to the same size, without including part of the word next to them.

But honestly, I bought the kit so I could just drag elements or words into the page I was creating. If I have to extract each word to be able to use it I feel like I haven't gotten my money worth.

I'm kind of afraid to buy anything more now, because a designer could just say you got what you saw and I don't want to buy items if I have to do extraction and cropping work to be able to use them.

i am sorry you feel that way. i know some people like words or text in individual files, and not a full sheet. for me, it is the same amount of work to have a single file or multiple.
I use the lasso tool to select the part I want and drag it onto my page, the same way I would drag a single .png. if I happen to select a bit of another word, then I just erase that part.

i very often recolor, apply a style, clip a paper to words, add a stroke. that is the part i love about digital items, i can make them my own and dont feel bad about altering things like I do with paper supplies. Undo is my friend.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I generally prefer to use full sheets when scrapbooking for myself. I use the marquee tool to select what I want and copy it and then go to my layout and paste it (like elenasworld described above.) I feel it is the same either way whether on a full sheet or in individual files. All of my alphas I do both ways...sheet and individuals but I didn't think of doing these in individuals.

What I'll do is go ahead and crop these out for you and send you a link for them. I hope you are pleased with the kit other than than. I'm glad to have the feedback. :)

Thanks I would appreciate that. I did like the rest of the kit very much.

I was just thinking when I commented and after reading yours and Elena's response that there is a very big difference between the skill sets of designers and casual users.

While designers might like having everything in one file...I can't help but wonder how many casual users are too polite to comment when disappointed? Or too shy to speak up when they have no idea how to even start to use the words when they come in a sheet? (For example think of all the people who comment they don't really get how to use templates...how many more would be lost at trying to figure out how to use the sheets? I wouldn't of had any idea if I hadn't taken your class and I've been using PS for almost two years).

OK, I made those up and sent them off to your email through the GDS email sender. Let me know if you got them.

Again, I appreciate the feedback. I will always strive to make sure my customers are happy with what they buy. :)
