Ok, gonna do a bit of a toot for my girlies!!!
As some of you know, my girls all play the recorder. Well, the older two have just got the results from their latest exams and they did really well!
Alice took her Grade 2 descant recorder exam (thats the one that most of you think of when you think of a recorder!) - it is only the 2nd music exam she has ever taken and she got 127/150 getting herself a high merit!!! (100 is a pass, 120 is a merit and 130 is a distinction).
Emily took her grade 3 descant last year and then moved onto the treble recorder (bigger than a descant with a more mellow tone). So, instead of doing Grade 1, she went straight onto Grade 2 on the treble recorder. And she has just got herself 131/150 - a distinction!
They really have done well as they both struggle with the aural part of the exam - part of which is singing which is NOT their best point at all! So, they have to make up for it by playing their pieces and scales even better! lol!!!
