I hope I can come along. I'm not sure if I get up early enough. It's starting at 3 am german time.

I love your speed scrapping.

04-08-2009, 12:04 PM
I've never done one of these. Any pointers or requirements I need to be made aware of before tomorrow? Thanks.

j_camargo6
04-08-2009, 12:43 PM
Well, slik25chik, beginning at 9PM EST, you will be given a series of "instructions" or "suggestions" to create a layout. Every 10 minutes you will receive a new one, until 10PM EST, when you will receive your final instruction and have 1 hour to finish the layout and post it in the gallery. The instructions are sometimes a no brainer, and sometimes a challenge, but should in no way be intimidating. They are merely to help get the creative juices flowing and I am a big believer in "artistic interpretation".

They are tons of fun and there's lots of chatter and conversation....you'll love it! Oh, and by the way...some of my most favorite layouts have been made at speed scraps!

So you can have a photo/s in mind, or a kit in mind that you want to use, but that may change quickly depending on the "suggestions" given. One tip is to have your stash organized somewhat, so that you can find things as you're madly dashing about, but I've also done it, flying by the seat of my pants, so it's up to you!

If I've forgotten to mention anything, everyone feel free to chime in, and if I didn't answer any of your questions, speak up!

Hope to see you tomorrow!

Tonight is going to be a challenge....I've put a lot of thought into making it fun and shaking things up....DO NOT let that scare you off!
Remember my mantra "artistic interpretation."
The prompts provided are to help us to think outside the box and get the creative juices flowing. If your creativity jumps off on a slight tangent
as a result of the prompts, GREAT! Just tell us all how the "shift" occurred in your description.
Don't worry, be Happy and enjoy the company of all of us who share the same love for creating!

I can't concentrate on the chat and try to figure out what to do in the speed scrap! This is the first one I am actually going to try to do in the two hours so I'd better just stay here!
My favorite show was Family Affair. Loved seeing it again when TVLand had it on.

j_camargo6

1. Choose your favorite childhood television show. Give it a little thought unless you know without a doubt which one it is.
2. Select photos. The number of photos on your LO will be determined by the number of words in the title of your favorite television show.
These are NOT photos of your favorite show, we're just using your chosen show for the "inspiration" in various ways.
3. Pick 2 solids and 3 patterned papers. The colors of the papers need to be determined by the time frame of your television show. For example,
if your show takes place, OR was produced in the 70's, then your colors would reflect colors of the times. If it was produced OR takes place in the 40s,
your color scheme would represent THAT time frame.

I got here really late (7:40 my time, or 10:40 EST), but I finished in one hour, approximately. Here's my layout: Captured (http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=53707).

This was a ton of fun and I have to admit-i had just gotten home and was checking my email-when I got the email about the speed scrap--it had only been going for 3 minutes-but I felt like I was playing catch up-great challenge-because I love the page I made!

Like an idiot I slept through it. 9pm = 6pm pacific, but I didn't wake up till 7pm and then thought the hour was over, so I went back to the fair...I should really try not to think and check the details.

Anyway I think I'll start my hour now, since I just read the prompts and see what happens.

Apparently scraping FAST and following directions is beyond me.

My hubby caught me playing when I was supposed to be working, LOL, so I had to put the LO on hold until I finished processing the pictures and orders from tonights photo shoot. But, I did finally get it finished ...
